The San Juan River, located in Northwestern New Mexico, is one of the most famous tail-water trout fisheries in the world.
Forming along the Continental Divide on the Mineral-Rio Grande County Line in the San Juan Mountains of southcentral Colorado, the San Juan River then flows southwest through Pagosa Springs to Navajo Reservoir on the Colorado-New Mexico border.

One trout only, at least 20" long for 3.5 miles dowstream from catch-and-release section to riverside boundary sigh east of Crasher Hole Boat Ramp. From the Navajo Dam downstream 1/4 mile as posted; artificial flies with single barbless hooks and all trout must be immediately returned to the water. No trout are allowed in your possession.
