Lake Ray Roberts Facts & Features
Lake Ray Roberts is a 29,350-acre lake located 10 miles north of Denton, Texas. It was named after Ray Roberts, a local congressman who supported creation of the lake, in 1980.
This excellent fishing lake is just a few minutes from the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and is a great place to get away from city life.
Visitors can enjoy boating, fishing, camping, hiking, and horseback riding in several Texas State Parks.
Lake Ray Roberts State Park
Situated along multiple locations on the shores of the lake, Ray Roberts Lake State Park Complex consists of two state park units (Isle du Bois and Johnson Branch), six satellite parks (Jordan Unit, Pond Creek, Pecan Creek, Buck Creek, Sanger, and Elm Fork), Wildlife Management Areas, wetlands, waterfowl sanctuaries and the 20 mile Ray Roberts Lake/Lake Lewisville Greenbelt Corridor.
Birdwatching, water sports, riding horses or backpacking along a scenic trail, Ray Roberts has something for everyone.

Note: There is a 14-24 inch slot limit on largemouth bass. Largemouth bass 14 inches and less or 24 inches or greater in length may be retained. The daily bag limit is five fish, except that only one bass 24 inches long or greater may be retained per day.
