Lake Mead is the largest man-made reservoir in the United States. The lake is created by Hoover and Davis Dam. About 96 percent of the water in Lake Mead is from melted snow that fell in Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Wyoming.
The Lake Mead Visitor Center, also called the Alan Bible Visitor Center, is located off of U.S. 93, four miles southeast of Boulder City.
