The Imperial National Wildlife Refuge
One of the major attractions for the Martinez area is The Imperial National Wildlife Refuge, home to several indigenous species of birds, reptiles and mammals. Imperial National Wildlife Refuge protects wildlife habitat along 30 miles of the lower Colorado River in Arizona and California, including the last unchannelized section before the river enters Mexico.
