Lake Cooper TX History
Cooper Lake, 19,300 acres, is a young lake; embankment construction on the South Sulphur River began in 1986 and completed in 1991.

Lake Cooper TX State Park
Situated in northeastern Texas, Cooper Lake State Park, occupying land owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the park consists of two units, Doctors Creek Unit, located in Delta County, and South Sulphur Unit, located in northern Hopkins County.
