Amistad NRA (National Recreational Area) is the United States portion of International Amistad Reservoir, formed on the Rio Grande River along the border of the United States and Mexico.

Lake Amistad a huge, 65,000 acre reservoir and is known for excellent water-based recreation, especially boating and bass fishing. Lake Amistad is surrounded by a landscape rich in prehistoric rock art at Seminole Canyon State Park, a vibrant border culture, along with a wide variety of plant and animal life.

Bassmaster Elite Series at Lake Amistad Lake Amistad is very popular with the Bassmaster Elite Series. Through 2008, the tournament was held here 3 years in a row. It returns for it's 4th year in a row March 12-15, 2009 and will also be here in 2010. Campgrounds are available at the Amistad National Recreation Area, but they are primitive. There are no hookups, though most sites will accomodate RVs. There are numerous RV parks in the Del Rio area that offer full services. Visit the Del Rio Chamber of Commerce for more information.
